People should be able to make their own medical decisions with their health care providers , just as they make many other important health decisions every day for themselves and their families.
Californians have historically supported a person’s right to abortion and contraceptives, but we have to ensure that this right will always be protected in California. An amendment to the state Constitution overwhelmingly passed the Legislature and is now before voters to decide in November. Proposition 1 would ensure that regardless of who or what party controls the government or the courts in the future, a person’s right to an abortion is protected in California.
We must act now to put this right in California’s Constitution before it is too late.
The bottom line is that everyone deserves the ability to make personal medical decisions that are right for them, no matter where they live.
